Sony has sure had a winner with the PSP! It's quickly become the number one selling portable gaming system and keeps picking up new fans each day. We have been getting a number of emails from people wondering where they can find free PSP downloads so we thought we would put together a quick article outlining your options.

One of the best features of the PSP is being able to download PSP games and use them on your system instead of always having to buy them at the store. This can be done right from your computer and is a lot cheaper than pulling out your wallet each time you want a new game!

Let's not waste any time! I'm going to list your three options to find free PSP downloads:

Option #1 - How To Find PSP Game Downloads

Many people will head over to Google and punch in "free PSP downloads" hoping to find something they can use.

Does this actually work?

Well.....kinda. You can find a few websites that advertise having "free PSP downloads" and then ask you to install some software to be able to use them. However you need to know a couple of things before you click that download button.

The first problem is that there are tons of viruses floating around these websites. There isn't any person monitoring them so many of the files that are added are just viruses or spyware - not good!

One of our biggest beefs with these sites is that the download speeds are insanely slow. Since there isn't any money being invested in the websites so the downloads can seem to take forever.

One more problem that can leave you pulling your hair out - many of the games you download don't even work! There are all sorts of "corrupt" files on these sites which means you won't be able to use them at all.

For obvious reasons, we don't recommend using these websites. They sound good at first, but there are far better options out there for you.

Option #2 - Finding Free PSP Downloads

This next option is a lot safer and more reliable than the first.

There are PSP download websites that allow you to download games, movies and music when you sign up as a member. As you might guess, they charge a fee for each membership. These sites costs about $30 each month, however this lets you download as many games or files as you want.

It isn't really worth covering this option in great detail because the next one is a lot less expensive and lets you download any game you want.

Option #3 - Free PSP Game Downloads

This last option is quickly becoming the standard for downloading PSP games, movies and music. It's the option the majority of our readers end up choosing in the long-run.

There are websites that are the exact same as the sites in option #2, but they only charge a one-time membership fee. You are only ever billed once and are then considered a lifetime member. You can login and download as many PSP games, movies or music for the rest of the time that you own your PSP.

You can expect to pay about $40 for this kind of membership. It's not expensive considering you will be able to download as many games and movies as you want for as long as you use your PSP. Your membership includes the software to transfer files onto your PSP at no extra cost.

At the bottom of this article we included a link where you can learn how to start a free trial at a couple of the most popular PSP download websites. This will let you get an idea of how it works and see how easy it is.

Since the companies that are behind these websites are trying to make a profit, they do what it takes to make sure that their customers are happy. This means the downloads are fast, you can find the newest and most popular games and all of the files work and are virus-free.

The PSP is a great entertainment system that you can always have with you while you're 'on the go'. Using PSP downloads is the best way to make sure you can always find new games or movies without having to spend a fortune. A quick warning though - it's easy to get addicted!
